Soon after Tony Militano, president of APDSP in 2016/17, purchased Carbon Copy Reproductions in 2000, he changed the name to Carbon Copy Digital to better reflect the additional services he was offering. Now it has a classy new logo announcing another change of name, to Carbon Graphics Group.
The company is celebrating its 40th year as a Calgary business, a good time to refresh the brand and make the name all-encompassing as some of the newer services — such as 3M architectural, sun control and security films — don’t involve printing.
It’s also an exciting time as Carbon Graphics Group has two new brands under its umbrella.
Western Sky Creative moved into the company’s 30,000-square-foot Clennan Square plant on 11th Avenue S.E when owner Tim Flaman joined Militano’s executive team as vice-president of Calgary operations. A company staffed with designers for print and web, they were responsible for the group’s new logo and other graphic designs, including signage, letterhead, business cards, brochures and a new website.
